Please find below our full terms and conditions. By completing and signing the registration form to enrol your child with Lumieres Performing Arts Academy, you are hereby agreeing to the terms and conditions detailed below.

Any child currently enrolled with Lumieres who has not signed our new registration form is also bound to these terms and conditions by their continuing to attend classes.

The children will benefit more if they regularly attend classes.

1.  Fees

All fees are to be paid in advance, no later than the 5th of every month, unless otherwise discussed with the Principal.

Fees are broken down into a 44-week year and taken over 12 equal payments throughout the year, regardless. This monthly amount also incorporates all the five-week months and some bank holidays (Lumieres Academy does not hold classes during Easter and Christmas.)

Fees are not waived in respect of absence for family holidays, school trips, school exams, other commitments or short term sickness or injury.

For instances of long-term sickness or injury, these will be assessed on an individual basis – please contact the Principal in these circumstances.

Payments can be made by BACS/ Direct Debit or Childcare Vouchers (please inform the Principal which company you are with.)

All Accounts must be settled before the next month starts, unless discussed with, and agreed by, the Principal.

If an account is more than a month in arrears, the parent will be notified that the child cannot attend classes and the academy will send the parent an invoice detailing the full amount owed.

If an account runs more than two months in arrears, the academy reserves the right to pursue the account for the full amount.  This is the last, and unfortunate, step of reclaiming any monies owed to the academy.

Statements are available at any time by contacting the Principal.

2. Uniform

The academy’s personalised t-shirt must be worn whilst at the academy and they are available to purchase for a small fee of £5.

Dance attire is required when taking part in the dance classes.   All students are required to purchase the correct dance shoes.

For ballet classes, leotards, pink tights/black skin-tight leggings and pink ballet shoes.

For tap classes, dance tops, black leggings and black tap shoes must be worn.

For drama / musical theatre / jazz classes, black leggings, black jazz shoes and the academy’s t-shirt must be worn.

All the above clothing and shoes can be purchased from Planetdance via Lumieres Academy. Please contact the Principal to make your order.

Parents can purchase directly from Planetdance if they so wish but please note that the academy receives a 20% discount on all orders.

3.   Sibling Fee Discount

A 50% sibling discount will be applied where there are two siblings attending the academy.

If you have more than two siblings who wish to attend, please contact the Principal to discuss further deductions.

4.   Lamda Examinations

All examination invoices must be settled within 14 days of the invoice date as entry fees will already have been paid by Lumieres Academy on the Parent/ Guardian’s behalf.

All examination fees must be paid before the date of the examination.   If not, your child might not be able to take part in the exam.

If your child attends Lumieres Academy, there will be no extra charge for examinations training and practice.

5.   Termination of Classes at Lumieres Academy

If a pupil wishes to leave the academy, we must receive written notification no less than four weeks prior to the commencement of the month for which the notice is being given.

Written notification can be either via letter or email to the Principal. Absence of notice or late notice for exceptional circumstances will be addressed on an individual basis – please contact the Principal.

In the event of a pupil leaving Lumieres Academy with fees still outstanding, Lumieres Academy reserve the right to pursue recovery of the debt by all legal means.

6.   Cancellation of Classes

Occasionally it may be necessary to cancel the academy classes.   Where this occurs Lumieres Academy will try to notify parents by email, text or phone as soon as possible.

7.   Safeguarding

The safeguarding of the children is of paramount importance.  Lumieres Academy staff will be responsible adults for the children during academy times and when the parents are not present.

All staff are Enhanced DBS checked.

No child will be allowed to leave any premises unless a parent is there to collect them OR the principal has been informed that alternative arrangements are in place.

If any parent has a concern regarding safeguarding then please ask the Principal for clarification.

Any changes to these Terms and Conditions will be announced on our website.
