Lumieres Behaviour Policy We feel it is important that all students have a mutual respect towards their fellow students and Tutors. That in mind we understand all children will have their good days and bad days a lot like adults, this is taken into consideration at all times. All our Academies promote good behavior and feel children should be rewarded in a positive manner, giving positive feedback and praise. If we find ourselves in the position that one of our students is misbehaving or being a distraction to his/her fellow students they would be asked to refrain from this behavior, again in a positive and encouraging manner. Should the distraction persist, we would explain to the student that it is a distraction and unfair to fellow students and their Tutor. Extreme Circumstances If bad behavior persists rather than distracting the entire class the student will be taken out of his/her session to see the principal. This is in extreme cases, such as biting, kicking, being violent towards another member of the class or bullying. We feel there is no need at all to be physical, again we understand in some younger children this can be due to excitement, with non-malice intended. In these circumstances this would be dealt with in class with the principal, who would explain to the student that this is not acceptable behavior within the Academy. The parents/carers would be notified of this behaviour.
